COVID-19 Resources - Employees

Anxious or stressed? Don’t struggle alone.

Cloth Face Coverings

In accordance with the new CDC guidance issued late Friday, the City Manager has authorized the wearing of cloth face coverings in the office, provided they are “tasteful” and adhere to the spirit of the City’s dress code (i.e. no vulgar language, non-discriminatory, inappropriate advertising, etc.). The face coverings are not required but voluntary, should you wish to wear them. If you chose to do so, please follow the CDC guidelines on how to wear a face covering and how to make one at home.

The City will continue its practice of providing personal protective equipment (PPE) to those departments who cannot social distance due to the nature of their job (Police, Fire, Public Works, Parks, etc.).

Please note: Social distancing of 6 feet or more is still important, even with a face covering.

Child Care

Due to COVID-19, many daycare providers have closed. However, we understand that many City of Plano employees may need access to a daycare in order to continue working. YMCA daycares across the metroplex are offering limited childcare programming on a daily basis, supporting the childcare needs of first responders, medical professionals, government officials, and those that must continue their work in this challenging time. All locations will comply with local County and City orders regarding capacity limits and limits on public gatherings.
