SERVE’s “Respectful” Value: What does it look like?

Respect ticket to success WEB

Kindness. Courtesy. Politeness. Treating everyone the same regardless of factors like age, ethnicity or position. These very common character traits aren’t always common in the workplace. Expert reports indicate a workforce’s job satisfaction is linked to respectful treatment by colleagues.

Team Plano’s SERVE value, Respectful, has been witnessed:

  • Holding the elevator for someone headed your way
  • Opening a door for a person needing an extra hand or just because
  • Making a point to congratulate someone on an accomplishment (big or small)
  • Listening intentionally when being spoken to (not distracted)
  • Smiling and saying “Thank You”

These are just a few simple, but impactful ways to demonstrate being Respectful.

  • How you feel about someone
Having respect for someone means you think good things about who a person is or how they behave. You can have respect for others and for yourself.
  • How you treat someone
Showing respect to someone means you act in a way that shows you care about their feelings and well-being.
