Improve Your Quality of Life through WCOA

Senior foot care

The Wellness Center for Older Adults (WCOA) offers a variety of services and programs to seniors and caregivers. Located in the Sam Johnson Recreation Center, 401 16th Street, this nonprofit organization is dedicated to helping you achieve your highest level of mental, physical and spiritual well-being.

A number of healthcare services and screenings are provided by appointment:

  • Foot and Hand care – nail trimming and filing; $15
  • Ear Cleaning - $15
  • Blood Pressure and Blood Sugar Checks – FREE
  • Durable Medical Equipment Loans – walkers, canes, wheelchairs, crutches, commode chairs, etc.; FREE

In addition to free senior and caregiver counseling (also by appointment), WOCA hosts monthly events:wheelchair walker and cane

  • 1st Thursdays – Blood Pressure checks; 10-11:30 a.m.
  • 2nd Tuesdays – Memory Café, a social and stimulating time for people with dementia and their caregivers; 10 a.m.
  • 1st & 3rd Mondays – Mental Aerobics, using puzzles, games and conversation to stimulate the brain and exercise the memory; 11:15 a.m.-12:15 p.m.
