Does Your Home Need Emergency Repairs?

Plano home repair grant

Home repair emergencies often happen out of the blue and pose a real drain on family finances. The City of Plano Housing Rehabilitation Program may be the answer to fixing the problem.

There are grants, through this HUD-supported program, to assist low-income qualified households with minor emergency home repairs. The damages must pose a hazard to the health and welfare of residents. Qualified homeowners receive funds to restore items like inoperable air conditioning units, leaky hot water heaters and broken sewer/water lines among other eligible repairs. Remodeling projects do not qualify.

Some of the eligibility requirements include:

  • Property appraised value can’t exceed $267,750
  • Mortgage, property taxes and homeowner’s insurance must be current
  • Property must be applicant’s primary residence
  • NOTE:  Visit the Plano Housing Rehabilitation Program page for detailed requirements

Once applications are processed, a housing and community services coordinator schedules a face to face meeting with homeowners. If you have questions, call 972-208-8150.
