Attend a 2020 Benefits Open Enrollment Meeting for Plan Details

The Open Enrollment process for active employees and pre-65 year old retirees begins Wednesday, October 30. Any changes you make during Open Enrollment are effective January 1, 2020. Attend one or more of these meetings for detailed info about our benefit plan:



  • Enhanced life insurance and disability benefits
    • OneAmerica will be our new life and disability carrier
    • The City continues to provide life insurance at no cost to employees
    • Life insurance benefit is at 4 times annual salary, maximum of $510,000
    • Reduction of life insurance begins at age 65, instead of age 50
    • Short-term disability benefit will be offered
    • During Open Enrollment 2020 ONLY, all full-time employees can increase life insurance WITHOUT a medical certificate; buy up to 1x/salary
  • Expanded $5 physician copay through Catalyst Health Network:  Village Health Partners is part of this network.
  • Expanded Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
    • CompPsych becomes our new EAP carrier
    • Increase from 5 to 6 free visits per event
  • New specialty pharmacy tier
  • Slight increase to dental rates
  • Tobacco surcharge increases to $50 per month

Participation in Open Enrollment is MANDATORY to declare tobacco status, review elections and dependent eligibility, and elect flexible spending accounts.
