As of July 2, Governor Greg Abbott issued an Executive Order requiring all Texans to wear a face covering over the nose and mouth in public spaces. This order applies to counties with 20 or more positive COVID-19 cases, with few exceptions.

Due to the continued increase in COVID-19 cases in our community, the following service expansions have been adjusted:
Summer recreation classes scheduled to begin on July 6 or later have been cancelled, except for online classes and those at High Point Tennis Center. Recreation staff will contact registrants to process cancelations and issue refunds.
The Plano Public Library Browse, Grab and Go service planned to begin July 6 is on hold. Current services continue, including porch side pickup of materials, computer access by appointment, online programs for all ages and access to digital resources (eBooks, eAudiobooks, eMagazines, eNewspapers and databases).
The Interurban Museum’s reopening date of July 11 has also been postponed.
Become a Pen Pal and Help Texans Stay Connected
Help residents and patients at state-supported living centers and state hospitals across Texas stay connected with their communities during the pandemic. Residents of living centers include people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and patients of state hospitals include people with mental health issues. Socialization is an important part of maintaining good mental health.
Due to COVID-19, group activities, communal dining and visits with relatives and volunteers have been limited to prevent the spread of the virus. Encouraging letters and cards make a world of difference! Sign up to participate with an email to VolunteerHHSC@hhsc.state.tx.us.
Jack Carter Pool is open for reservations. Reserve a spot online for one of three daily shifts.
