Neighborhood Services’ staff of 51 will take up residence on Monday, June 22 with plenty of room to spread out and grow. The new building at 777 E. 15th Street is on the northwest corner of 15th Street and G Avenue St. (Historic Downtown).
Moving the department to the heart of Plano provides easier access for residents traveling by public transportation to visit with the Neighborhood Services team. Department Director Lori Schwarz said, “We are so grateful for the opportunity to move into our new offices that will allow us to better serve our citizens. It is a beautiful space and we look forward to the day we can have the public and Team Plano visit us at the Neighborhood Services building."
The location puts the department within walking distance of Municipal Center. Staff will occupy two floors, featuring multiple conference rooms, a larger training room and great views of downtown. It required a total gutting and rehabbing to accommodate the group.
Neighborhood Services divisions and services include Property Standards, BEST Neighborhoods, and Housing & Community Services. Some of the programs they administer include:
Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, the new office remains closed to the public until sometime in July 2020. Meanwhile, access to department programs and services is available online. Contact Nichole Adamo, administrative support supervisor at 972-208-8150, if you have questions.
