City Solves Davis Library’s Cramped Conditions

Davis library

Renovations to the Davis Library get under way in April and will take more than a year to complete. Structural repairs and updates are planned for this project to bring the facility up to Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements.

The $5 million dollar renovations at Davis will not require the Library to close during the work. The project is expected to be complete by late spring 2022 and involves portions of the Joint Use Facility next door. When complete there will be new study rooms, meeting rooms and collaborative spaces. In addition, the children’s area will more than double in size.

The following services offered at Davis (7501-B Independence Parkway) will still be open during construction:

  • Holds pick up (inside self-service and porch side)
  • New materials for all ages
  • STEAM kits for all ages
  • Children and young adult materials
  • DVDs
  • Limited computers and printing
  • 3D printing service
