Think of APPRECIATION. It may mean something slightly different to different people, but the basic meaning is the same. Being genuinely appreciated is personal to each of us and is not frivolous or superficial. Appreciation carries a strong message of being valued.
This Employee Appreciation Week (EAW) provided some great opportunities for Team Plano to celebrate…well…US as Team Plano.
Along with the great fun with our virtual games, like our Scavenger Hunt, Word Scramble and Safety Question of the Day, our Team Plano 5K Fun Run as well as our first ever CARnival, there were many opportunities to show thanks. The City also shared a genuine appreciation for what you do in serving our community by providing early morning and evening burrito and pancake breakfasts for our field and shift employees. The week ended with our first ever Drive-thru Employee Picnic at the Plano Event Center.
Below is a short video showing several of the EAW events that occurred during the week.

Appreciation for Team Plano shouldn’t be shown just one day or week each year. One way that is a great example of ongoing gratitude is our I SEE U SERVE recognition program. Team Plano shows appreciation for coworkers by sharing genuine thanks and recognition for those we see living our SERVE values. You do this by sending our I SEE U SERVE cards found in each department or by sending I SEE U SERVE e-Cards.
Since its launch in February 2020 (that’s right before the pandemic shut-down), you’ve sent 1,147 e-Cards! YOU continually take time to express appreciation for people who SERVE.
Thanks to ALL of you for your passion for your profession and your passion to serve others. In the midst of ALL the twists and turns of the past year and a half, you demonstrate that…We Are Team Plano!
