Put Grass in the Bag, Not the Cart

With the grass growing…like weeds…we’re in mega-mowing season in North Texas. No matter what city you live in, it’s not okay to dispose of grass clippings in your garbage or recycling carts. Our Environmental Waste Services division recommends putting leaves, plant materials and grass in paper lawn bags. Place these bags out with your yard trimmings for collections.

Bad things happen to the environment when lawn and yard waste aren’t disposed of properly. This video explains:


Recommended paper bags can be found at local home improvement stores. If you have a mulching mower, just leave the grass clippings on your lawn and they'll act as a natural fertilizer.
