Everyone has a story to tell and this July Plano Parks & Recreation wants to hear from you! In accordance with the 2021 theme #OurParkandRecStory, we’re showcasing stories, memories and experiences from community members via Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
Followers can also enjoy weekly #FlashbackFridays, employee spotlights, submitted stories from patrons and more. Those looking to make new memories can also sign up for a variety of summer classes and programs at planoparks.org.
“Local parks are often our first experiences in nature, our introduction to a favorite hobby or physical activity. They are places to gather with friends and family to celebrate life’s special moments as well as places to relax and healing,” Director Ron Smith said. “If the COVID-19 pandemic has taught us anything, it’s that visiting a local park, trail or green space is essential to our mental and physical well-being. This is the perfect time to reflect on and appreciate all the ways our community is stronger, more vibrant and more resilient because of parks and recreation.”
