Parks balloons over lake at night“Local parks are often our first experiences in nature, our introduction to a favorite hobby or physical activity. They are places to gather with friends and family to celebrate life’s special moments as well as places to relax and healing,” Director Ron Smith said. “If the COVID-19 pandemic has taught us anything, it’s that visiting a local park, trail or green space is essential to our mental and physical well-being. This is the perfect time to reflect on and appreciate all the ways our community is stronger, more vibrant and more resilient because of parks and recreation.”

Celebrate National Park and Recreation Month by sharing your experiences and memories about what parks and recreation means to you. Share your story by tagging us and using #OurParkAndRecStory. You can also share your story online or email us. Tell how parks and recreation has made a positive impact on your life! Learn more at nrpa.org/July
