Backflow preventers are the unsung heroes of water safety as they often go unnoticed, yet play a crucial role in supplying clean and safe water all over the world. Without backflow prevention, people would risk consuming water with toxins, chemicals, waste and countless other contaminants.

An unfortunate water-contamination incident at the 1933 Chicago World Fair prompted the founding of organizations like the American Society of Plumbing Engineers and others. The dysentery outbreak in the joint water supply caused 98 deaths and 2,000 illnesses.
Team Plano appreciates our Public Works staff!
