The Plano City Secretary’s Office has won the Texas Municipal Clerks Association (TMCA) Achievement of Excellence Award. The award, which covers a 2-year period, recognizes excellence in the effective and efficient management of resources in a City Secretary’s Office.
Congratulations to Plano City Secretary Lisa Henderson and Assistant City Secretary Alice Snyder, along with our entire City Secretary's Office and Records Management team on earning this recognition.
The TMCA award covers a period of two years. Eighteen Texas cities and representatives received the award in 2020. This is Plano’s second time to be recognized.
There are 12 standards considered in the evaluation including: government transparency, Public Information Act, Open Meetings Act and elections to name a few. A municipality is required by the Local Government Records Act to have three elements of compliance on file with the Texas State Library and Archives Commission, which include a records management policy, designation of a records management officer and adoption of local retention schedules.
