[ARCHIVED] Find Lost Pets Easier with New State of the Art Tags

Tag2

The Plano Animal Shelter just introduced a new registration tag by PetHub. The digital I.D. tags help pet owners find lost dogs or cats quicker and locate them safely. Each tag displays a QR code linked to online information specific to each pet.

AltTextThe new recovery system is effective and operates 24/7 to identify and help locate your pet. People who find lost pets can now instantly access the animal’s profile on a smartphone, tablet or computer. If you do not have a smartphone and you find a pet, the tag has the Plano Animal Shelter phone number. The smart tags also allow Animal Services officers access to important pet and owner details when lost animals are caught.

PetHub tags also provide GPS notification as an optional service with your animal’s registration. Pet owners can sign up for this service any time, including after their pet is lost.

The new tag is part of your regular pet registration – there is no additional cost. All dogs, cats and ferrets in Plano are required to register with the City to verify rabies vaccinations. Check out this flyer or watch the video to discover all the features of these tags.
